Background & Experience
Jesse Tarango joined Community Health Partnership with nine years of experience working for one of California's largest and most comprehensive mental and behavioral health agencies. During his time in the mental health field, he worked directly with at-risk foster youth and their families to develop and implement various behavioral interventions to improve and create positive coping skills, family & social dynamics, and short term goals. Since joining Community Health Partnership, Jesse has been a part of various projects in the areas of workforce development, health coverage, and policy. In collaboration with Phillip Vu of CHP, Mr. Tarango created a Patient Centered Communication curriculum and trained over 350 healthcare professionals, including CEOs, doctors, nurses, and front desk staff. For health coverage, Jesse coordinated efforts in the evaluation of the enrollment process of the Primary Care Access Program (PCAP) by engaging feedback from over 200 community health center patients. In the area of policy, he has helped create a cross-sector collective impact movement in District 5 of Santa Clara County by connecting leadership from dozens of community based organizations with the goal of making improvements in the social determinants of health of the people they serve.
