Jesse TarangoDEPUTY DIRECTOR OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Tarango currently serves as the Director of Workforce Development and the Director of the South Bay Area Health Education Center Director at CHP. In this role, Jesse increases community-based health professions training programs, focuses on increasing the diversity of the healthcare workforce, strengthens collaborations and develops partnerships between institutions with similar missions, and supports communication between community and academic partners.

Since joining CHP in 2015, Jesse has both led and supported projects in the areas of workforce development, health coverage, and policy. Mr. Tarango’s primary focus is in curriculum development, training, and building academic pipeline programs to provide career exploration opportunities in community health for college students.

When he’s not helping students pursue a career in community health, you can find Mr. Tarango running on the Los Gatos Creek trail or at a San Jose Earthquakes match.

Education

MBA with concentration in Non-Profit Management from Mills College
BA in Psychology from San Jose State University
