Policy & Advocacy

Policy advocacy is a key component of Community Health Partnership’s mission.  We monitor, research, and analyze health policy issues, health programs, and legislation on behalf of our member community health centers.  Through our advocacy activities, we generate support for community health centers and their mission to provide accessible, affordable, and appropriate health care for the communities they serve.

Our advocacy activities include:

  • Working closely with county partners such as the Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System in the implementation of health care reform provisions

  • Educating decision-makers, community based organizations, the general public, and media about the impacts of proposed legislation on community health centers and their patients

  • Collaborating with partners to advocate for systems that expand access and improve quality of care to medically underserved communities

Community Health Partnership is an active member of the California Primary Care Association (CPCA).  As an association of member community health centers, Community Health Partnership provides leadership and perspective on policy and issues affecting medically underserved populations in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.  We work closely with the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System (SCVHHS), Valley Health Plan, Santa Clara Family Health Plan, the South County Collaborative, and the Silicon Valley Council of Nonprofits.
