MINORITY AIDS INITIATIVE (MAI)
The Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI), a project of the San Jose AIDS Education & Training Center (SJAETC), focuses on improved access to HIV prevention and treatment services for Latino Men who have sex with men (MSM) and Latina Transgender people in Santa Clara County have relatively high rates of HIV infection and low levels of access to health care. The project aims to improve access to health care for this population by improving provider skills and knowledge and working with community-based clinics to create and implement policies that help ensure quality care for MSM and transgender people.
