Departments: Community Diabetes Project, HIV Services, Women's Health Partnership
Rhonda D. Smith, MHSA joined the Partnership team in February 2007. She worked as Division Administrator of Health Promotion & Disease Prevention and later as the Deputy Assistant Commissioner at Baltimore City Health Department in Maryland . She was Planning Analyst at Union Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore , and completed her post-graduate fellowship in Pennsylvania Hospital 's acute care facility. Ms. Smith received her MHSA from the University of Michigan , her BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania , and studied Anthropology abroad at Universite de Bordeaux in France .

Lydia Guel, HIV Services Director
Programs: San Jose AIDS Education & Training Center , Minority AIDS Initiative, TransPowerment, Healthy Futures
Lydia Guel returned to her hometown of San Jose to join the Partnership team in September 2005. Her extensive experience with program planning and evaluation, community-based event production and promotion, and social marketing is reflective of her diverse work with the County of Sonoma Department of Health Services since 2001 and years of involvement in the field of prevention and planning related to youth advocacy, HIV/AIDS prevention, social marketing and alcohol, tobacco, and other drug-related programs. She completed her Bachelors of Arts in Community Health Education at the University of California at Berkeley in 2001, and studied Sociology at University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in Barbados and La Universidade Candido Mendes in Brazil .

Odel Malan-Pineda, Health Educator
Programs: Healthy Futures, San Jose AIDS Education & Training Center
Odel Malan-Pineda joined the Community Health Partnership team in January 2006. She is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Health Science from San Jose State University with extensive education in nursing and a minor in Psychology. She is a certified phlebotomist and also holds certification as a back office Medical Assistant. Beginning as a Program Assistant for the department, Ms. Malan-Pineda was quickly promoted due to her leadership and demonstrated expertise in event coordination and health education.

NORi Herras-Tejero , Community Health Advocate
Programs:
TransPowerment Program and Know Your Status HIV Testing Program
Nori Herras-Tejero joined Community Health Partnership in mid-April of 2007. Born and raised in East San Jose, Ms. Tejero has been an active volunteer in the transgender and HIV prevention and education communities for 3 years. She has been a participant on the PFLAG Speaker Panel and a member of the Bay Area LGBT Speaker Panel. She also served as Vice President of the Rainbow Gender Association for 2005-2006, and has been facilitating The Transgender Women's Support Group at The Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center since March 2006. Prior to joining the HIV team at the Partnership, Ms. Tejero was a volunteer community peer health educator and outreach consultant for the TransPowerment Program.

Lori Salmiery , Program Assistant
Programs: San Jose AIDS Education & Training Center, Minority AIDS Initiative, Rapid Testing in Labor & Delivery project, TransPowerment, Know Your Status HIV Testing program
Lori Salmiery joined the Partnership team in June 2007 after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Health Education and a minor in Gerontology from California State University, Chico. Lori completed an intensive internship at Butte County Public Health Department in the Communicable Disease and Emergency Response Division where she provided health education and outreach to community members, participated in event planning, and conducted client interviews and partner notification through their STI prevention program.
