HIV SERVICES

Direct Client Service
Works to expand access to health services for medically underserved persons living with, affected by, and most at risk for HIV/AIDS by providing effective and competent direct client service.

Policy
Encourages prevention and health promotion through active advocacy for the implementation of policies that address the diverse needs of the HIV community in Santa Clara County and the Bay Area region.

Capacity Building
Trains providers and community leaders to improve access to quality care and prevention services and supports the sustainability of programs that meet the needs of our diverse multi-cultural community and empower community members to make healthy decisions.

 

PROGRAMS

HIV Policy and Community Development
Provides support to the Santa Clara County HIV Planning Council, which is a community planning group mandated by the Ryan White CARE Act to work with county staff, community-based organizations, and clients to allocate, prioritize, plan and evaluate HIV/AIDS care, support, and prevention services in the County of Santa Clara.

TransPowerment
Builds strength within the transgender community by providing culturally appropriate services through education and prevention workshops, outreach, and case management.

Training & Technical Assistance
Training and technical assistance for health care professionals administered by expert faculty members on varying topics related to HIV/AIDS prevention and care in the counties of Santa Clara , Monterey , Santa Cruz , San Luis Obispo , and San Benito . Related programs include San Jose AIDS Education & Training Center (SJAETC) and the Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI).

Local HIV Testing
Promotes and refers clients to Santa Clara County 's current HIV testing and counseling program to effectively reach high risk people of color and to reduce new infections of HIV disease by expanding local HIV Alternative Testing Sites.

Recent and upcoming event announcements for collaborative projects, trainings, and fundraisers related to HIV care and prevention services.
