Happy Lunar New Year

Greetings!

Happy Lunar New Year from the Board of Directors and staff of Community Health Partnership! May you and yours enjoy health, prosperity and happiness.

This Year of the Rooster began with enormous challenges for healthcare. Specifically, we are confronted with the frightening reality of proposed policies from Washington, DC, which are directly and severely in conflict with our mission and vision: we believe in affordable healthcare access for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or income.

Despite constant threats to our healthcare system, our member clinics in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties continue to thrive, serving nearly 180,000 unduplicated individuals last year. In partnership with and support from our local Board of Supervisors, community health centers are ready to step up in unison on behalf of immigrants, women’s health, LGBTQ rights, and human rights. With support from our funders such as private foundations, we will continue to adhere to our core values via advocacy, health provider education, using best practices in quality improvement, and healthcare coverage enrollment.

Special gratitude to our local community-based agencies and to the staff of our community health centers for your dedication to providing services to all who enter your doors. These are, indeed, difficult times but together we must fight on behalf of the people we serve. In the coming months, we will look to the leadership of our representatives in the Federal and State legislatures.  It is through their unwavering commitment to protect the healthcare safety net that we will continue providing care to all, including women, children, seniors, immigrants, and the poor.

As we move forward, Community Health Partnership will not only continue to advocate for the preservation of the Affordable Care Act, but will also provide resources for our community concerning pending legislation, advocacy opportunities, and rights to healthcare.  Please visit our website at www.chpscc.org to learn more. In closing, may you be filled with the fortitude, courage, and support to keep up the good fight. Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Dolores Alvarado
Chief Executive Officer
